The House That Grant Built

This was a wonderful morning! I painted at a friend's property. It was the most fun I've had by myself since I was a teenager. Lieutenant U. S. Grant built this spring house in 1854 (with help from a Mr. Snipes)! oil on canvas 9 X 12 Unavailable due to having been burnt in a gallery fire (along with about 15 others of my paintings).

Thanks, Celeste. Somehow stumbling on something like that; a little spring house built by a future president makes history more "real". Then it's kinda inspirational to paint.
